The place
Turkey's south-west coast is the stretch the sailing world calls the Turquoise Coast, and the name is not marketing. Pine-covered hills drop into bays you can see the bottom of, the Twelve Islands sit a short sail from Göcek, and the sea in September is typically warm enough to swim in for as long as you want. Ölüdeniz's lagoon, Butterfly Valley, the sunken ruins at Kekova and the castle above Simena are all on this coast, and most of them are only properly reachable by boat.
Our gulet is a traditional wooden yacht of the kind built along this coast for generations: a double cabin for each couple, each with its own bathroom, a deck for sunbathing and a deck for eating, and a crew who cook, sail and know every bay. For seven nights, it is ours and nobody else's.
We start ashore, in a harbour town of white houses and bougainvillea that has kept its size and its character. One night to arrive properly: a walk, a long dinner, and a full night's sleep before anyone sets foot on a boat.
The rhythm of a day aboard
- Early coffee on deck as the anchor comes up, and a swim before breakfast if you want one
- Mid-morning a short sail to the next bay, paddleboards and kayaks off the stern
- Middle of the day lunch aboard, then yours. Swim, snorkel, read, nap, or take the tender ashore
- Late afternoon the day's longer sail, sundowners on the bow
- Evening dinner on deck at anchor, or ashore in a harbour town, and a very dark sky
The shape of the week
- Day one fly to Dalaman, transfer to the harbour town, dinner ashore and an early night
- Day two board after breakfast, then the first bay and the first swim
- Days three to eight the coast. Bays to swim in, a town or two, paddleboards off the stern, and at least one day when one of you does something the other would rather not
- Day nine back where we started, transfer to Dalaman, fly home
Treat this as a reliable rumour rather than a rulebook. Wind, weather and what the group fancies all get a vote, and the captain has the final say.
The coast
Where we will choose from
The route is set with the captain each morning, with the weather and the group both getting a say. The places we will be choosing between: the Twelve Islands, Ölüdeniz and Butterfly Valley, Kalkan, Kekova's sunken city and the castle at Simena. Not all of them, and not in that order.
Nobody has to do anything. If you want to stay on the boat while the group goes ashore, or skip the paragliding and read, that is what the week is for.

The practical bit
Getting there
Flights are not included. Fly to Dalaman; there are direct flights from Manchester and Leeds Bradford in season, around four hours TO CONFIRM airlines and days for 2027. We will tell you which flight and arrival window to book for, and the group transfer meets you at Dalaman for the drive to the harbour town, where we spend the first night. The boat is a round trip, so on the last day the transfer collects you from the same harbour for the drive back to Dalaman, with the two of us on board.
Passports and visas
TO CONFIRM: UK passport holders' entry requirements for Turkey at the time of travel. Check gov.uk before booking flights; rules change and we are not the official source.
Health
No vaccinations are required for entry from the UK; speak to your GP or a travel clinic about what they recommend. The boat carries a first-aid kit and the crew are trained.
Sea legs
The Turquoise Coast is sheltered and the gulet is a big, steady boat, but it is still a boat. If either of you is prone to seasickness, tell us and bring what works for you. Most people find the motion at anchor soothing rather than the reverse.
Fitness
Nothing on the week needs fitness. Swimming is optional and there is always a ladder and a crew member nearby. The Lycian Way walk is a couple of hours on uneven ground and optional. Yoga is optional and beginner-friendly. If you have a mobility or health condition, tell us before you book and we will be honest about what will and won't work; a gulet has steps and a gangway.
Cabins
Double cabins with a proper double bed and an ensuite shower room. They are comfortable, air-conditioned overnight, and smaller than a hotel room; that is the trade for waking up in a different bay each morning. Most of the week is lived on deck.
Food
Breakfast, lunch and dinner aboard from the boat's galley, mostly Turkish and Aegean, with a lot of grilled fish, mezze and fruit. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and most allergies are fine with notice. Tell us at booking.
Group size and minimum numbers
Couples only, and a small group: the exact number is set with the boat. The retreat runs with a minimum number of couples, set at the same time. If we have not reached it by TO CONFIRM date, we will cancel and refund your deposit in full, or offer you a place on the next date.
Insurance
Travel insurance covering medical care, repatriation, cancellation and the activities on the retreat (sailing, swimming, kayaking, hiking and, if you choose it, paragliding) is a condition of booking. We will ask for your policy details before the balance is due.
Booking and protection
We are registering interest only for now. Before we take a deposit, your money will be protected under the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations, and we will publish the provider and what it covers on this page and in the booking terms.
Cancellation
Your deposit is non-refundable but can be transferred to a future OhSoTogether retreat within 12 months, subject to availability. Balances paid and then cancelled within 60 days of departure are non-refundable. Full terms are on our booking terms page.

Who you're travelling with
Hosted by a couple, for couples
We are Stacey and Ollie. We are married, we have three boys, and we know exactly how rare a week away that is actually about the two of you can be. That is why we run these.
Stacey
Stacey founded OhSoYoga and has hosted more than fifteen retreats in Greece, Morocco, South Africa and the UK.
Ollie
Ollie has spent his career designing award-winning customer experiences for large organisations, which in practice means he is the one worrying about the transfer timings so you don't have to.
Questions about this retreat
We've never sailed. Will we be seasick?
The Turquoise Coast is sheltered, the gulet is large and steady, and most of the week is spent at anchor in calm bays rather than crossing open water. If you know you are prone to it, bring what works for you and tell us; the captain will plan the longer legs for the calmest part of the day.
Do we have to do everything together?
No, and we would rather you didn't. Swim stops, sailing and dinners are the shared moments. The middle of every day is yours, and there is always the option for one of you to go ashore while the other stays on deck. That is the point.
How big are the cabins?
Double, ensuite, air-conditioned overnight, and smaller than a hotel room. You will spend the week on deck and use the cabin to sleep and shower. If that would be a problem, the night ashore at the start is a proper hotel room.
Is there air conditioning at night?
Yes. Overnight air conditioning aboard is included. It is not standard on every gulet, so it is one of the things we hold out for.
Can we drink?
Yes. House wine and local beers are included with dinner aboard and at the group dinner ashore. Anything else is charged.
What about the paragliding?
Tandem paragliding from Babadağ above Ölüdeniz is one of the best-known flights in the world and entirely optional. We send a menu before you travel so you can book it, along with sea kayaking and massages, in advance.
Which airport do we fly to?
Dalaman. We will tell you which flights to book and the transfer meets you there. We will confirm the routes and days closer to the time.
Why a night ashore first?
Flights from the UK land in the afternoon and the boat sails on a Saturday. A night in the harbour town first means nobody boards straight off a plane, a late flight cannot cost you the boat, and the group meets over dinner on land before it meets on deck.
What if we need to cancel?
Your deposit is non-refundable but can be transferred to a future OhSoTogether retreat within 12 months, subject to availability. Balances paid and then cancelled within 60 days of departure are non-refundable. Full terms are on our booking terms page.
Can you help with extra nights?
Yes. Some people add a few nights before or after, in Istanbul or along the coast. Tell us what you have in mind and we will help you work it out.
